IAVA - Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America

"When I got home....this didn't look like a country at war" - Paul Rieckhoff

There is probably no other organization in the country doing more for our returning veterans than the IAVA. This group is a nonpartisan organization traveling around the country educating America about the effects of war on our young people coming home from the war.

Paul Rieckhoff is a hero. Not because of anything he did on the battlefield, but because of his leadership in this cause.

This
9 minute promo film from the IAVA briefly tells the story of the trials our troops face over there as well as when they come home.

I had the honor of meeting Mr. Rieckhoff at YearlyKOS where IAVA had an information table as well as hosting a panel on the war and sponsoring the documentary
The War Tapes

The Bush administration and the Republican leadership in the Senate and House should be ashamed for the way they have treated our returning vets. What a disgrace!

But being upset isn't enough. We have a moral obligation to make the public aware of this as well as help these young men and women return to a normal life after the severe traumatic effects of war.
